Materials & standards

Our materials & standards

The materials that go into every unit — from the container body to the wiring — and the standards we work to.

Container materials

The quality of a converted container comes down to what is behind its walls. These are the materials we commonly use; each product's exact specification is on its product page and spec sheet.

Materials

From the container body to the wiring

  • Container body

ISO-size steel containers (8ft–40ft High Cube) with a strong frame, corner posts and corner castings.

    • New, one-trip or grade A used
    • Inspected: frame, floor, doors and rust
  • Opening frames

Every door and window opening is reinforced with box-section or angle steel so the walls stay rigid.

    • Welded and painted with anti-rust paint
  • Paint & rust protection

Surfaces are cleaned, primed with anti-rust paint and finished in your chosen color.

    • Custom colors available
    • Company logo can be added
  • Insulation

Walls and roof are thermally insulated — e.g. glass wool, rock wool or PU — so the space stays cooler and the AC uses less power.

  • Interior walls & ceiling

Wall panels (e.g. fibre-cement board, PVC or plywood) and a ceiling are fixed to an inner frame.

  • Flooring

The container's original plywood floor is covered with vinyl, carpet or tiles as needed.

  • Doors, windows & canopies

Panel or glass doors, sliding aluminium windows with security bars, and canopies over the openings.

  • Electrics

Cables, breakers, sockets, switches, lights and AC points are installed neatly to the working drawings.

Standards

Standards we work to

  • ISO dimensions

External container dimensions follow the international ISO 668 standard, so units travel on ordinary trailers and ships.

  • Approved drawings before production

Every custom order is built from working drawings approved by the customer — size and positions of doors, windows and electrics.

  • Leak testing

Units are checked for wind and water tightness after the openings are cut and before shipping.

  • Inspection at handover

Units are handed over after a joint check of the structure, doors and windows, electrics and fittings.

Materials can differ by product and order; the exact specification is stated in the quote.
